As one of the activities under the Joint Teaching Base Programme of South China University of Technology (China) and the PolyU, a group of twelve undergraduate students and one Doctoral student of the SCUT led by Professor Liu visited the Industrial Centre to attend a one day training course in Rapid Prototyping and Manufacturing on 11 December 1999.
The undergraduates are year four students from the College of Electric Power Engineering, Department of Industry Equipment & Control Engineering and Department of Mechatronic & Mechanics taking an optional module in Rapid Prototyping Technology. They have already been using Internet to access our Web based training materials to obtain preliminary understanding on RP technology. Through this one day intensive training, they are expected to be equipped with solid hands-on experience and more thorough knowledge on this emerging tool used in new product development.
